Eruv Repaired

I am pleased to inform you all that the Eruv has been repaired, and is in order for use this Shabbos.  

One should call every Erev Shabbos to be certain that the Eruv is in good repair (295-0150, and follow the prompts to Eruv Information).

Five Towns Eruv

I have just received the following notice from Rav Moshe Katzenstein, shlita, of Yeshiva Gedolah of the Five Towns, which supervises and maintains our Eruv:

Please be aware that we are experiencing some issues with the local eruv. There is a realistic chance that the eruv may not be operational for Shabbos and some of us may need to plan accordingly. Therefore, we urge all members of the community to call the eruv hotline as it gets closer to shabbos in order to check its status.

SAVE TIME AND GIVE MORE TZEDAKA THIS PURIM!

The Aruch HaShulchan, and many other poskim, rule that one should minimize his or her Mishloach Manos on Purim, and instead devote those funds to Matanos LaEvyonim or other tzedaka.

 

Time is running out to order our Mishloach Manos cards, that people may send to friends and neighbors in lieu of Shalach Manos packages. 

You may purchase these cards (4 for $36; 8 for $50) by ordering from the Rebbetzin, either by e-mail (donna@tzminyan.org), or by calling 569-8745.   

Checks should be made payable to "Congregation Tifereth Zvi". 

 

Purim is February 28!  Don't delay!

Rabbi's Note: the halacha requires that each person give at least one actual Mishloach Manos package containing two different foods, but one may substitute these tzedaka cards for additional Mishloach Manos.  This will not fulfill your obligation of Matanos LaEyonim, as the funds may be distributed after Purim.  All funds collected, though, will be delivered to needy families in our community through our Chesed Fund.

Please be advised that the Gan Chamesh Supperette
honoring Rebbetzin Donna Chatzinoff as Educator of the Year,
scheduled for Wednesday Night, has been postponed (due to the weather forecast) to April 20.

On another weather-related note, despite the forecast and the schools being closed,
