SAVE TIME AND GIVE MORE TZEDAKA THIS PURIM!
The Aruch HaShulchan, and many other poskim, rule that one should minimize his or her Mishloach Manos on Purim, and instead devote those funds to Matanos LaEvyonim or other tzedaka.
Time is running out to order our Mishloach Manos cards, that people may send to friends and neighbors in lieu of Shalach Manos packages.
You may purchase these cards (4 for $36; 8 for $50) by ordering from the Rebbetzin, either by e-mail (donna@tzminyan.org), or by calling 569-8745.
Checks should be made payable to "Congregation Tifereth Zvi".
Purim is February 28! Don't delay!
Rabbi's Note: the halacha requires that each person give at least one actual Mishloach Manos package containing two different foods, but one may substitute these tzedaka cards for additional Mishloach Manos. This will not fulfill your obligation of Matanos LaEyonim, as the funds may be distributed after Purim. All funds collected, though, will be delivered to needy families in our community through our Chesed Fund.
